In memoriam
September 27, 1921 - December 9, 2019

Trudi spent most of her 98 years in the small Philadelphia suburb of Swarthmore where she established a 76-year career working with all forms of ceramics. Beyond her prolific body of work, she was an art educator who taught students both young and old for over 50 years, instilling her vision of art for generations to come.

Her passion for calligraphy and printmaking were intrinsically tied into her style, giving each piece an abstract painterly quality that is reminiscent of the WW2 era when she came of age. Her expertise also extended out from traditional smaller pottery vessels to larger environmental sizes that referenced sculpture as much as they did ceramics.

When not toiling over her next masterpiece at the potters guild, she also found time to be a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, leaving behind a legacy that her family will always treasure. She will be sorely missed but her spirt will live on forever through her work.

Trudi followed the traditional ethos of the craftsman potter, weaving that into everything she set out to accomplish.
